Christmas Occasions

At the Christmas Tree at Dunscar along with Bromley Cross Councillors Alan Wilkinson and David Greenhalgh.

Last night I attended the official switching on of the Christmas Tree lights at Dunscar, it was a festive occasion with the Mayor and Mayoress in attendance and ended with some lovely Christmas Carols. It was an excellent turnout and lovely to see so many children there on what was a chilly evening.

I do love tradition, we should all do what we can to preserve some of the wonderful traditions we have.

It’s that time of year where I attend lots of these things, especially with my children Isabella and Scarlett.  It was Scarlett’s Christmas Concert last week at school, and this Saturday both of my girls are in their Christmas show from their Stagecoach group so I will be off to enjoy that on Saturday afternoon.

Things are hotting up…is there an General Election coming up…

Me and Dr George Holmes Vice Chancellor of the University

As we approach the GE I think we are going to come across a lot of negative campaigning from the Labour Party, both here in Bolton and across the country. Clearly they have nothing positive to say so they just say negative things about the Conservatives.

I strongly believe that this is not what the public want to hear and I will continue to question the current Labour Government where I disagree with them but I wont be leading a negative campaign such as my opposition are, there will be no newspapers put out with very scared looking pensioners on the front to whom the Labour party are telling untruths about us to.

I came into politics to add something to society and that is exactly what I intend to try and do. I do hope all the people who write/email or come in to see me think that’s what I’m doing. There is no greater satisfaction then helping all those people who have so far asked for assistance.

At the moment we live in worrying times and to play on peoples fears as my local Labour Party are doing is simply quite unforgivable, if ever I find myself doing that then I believe that’s the time to bow out of politics, because to me politics is about making things better.

I was a privilege last week to be a guest again at Bolton University’s Awards Ceremony. We are very lucky to have Dr George Holmes who is a most excellent Vice Chancellor and I was honoured to be one of his guests.
