A hectic week…..again…

It’s been non stop since I got back off holiday, straight into the campaign for the Crompton By Election. Labour’s sitting Councillor is stepping down and this has brought us a By Election.

We have a fabulous candidate in Kath Kavanagh, a local lady on a mission and I know if elected she will work incredibly hard for the people of Crompton Ward.

Tomorrow I have Mark Hoban MP Shadow Secretary to the Treasury here in Bolton. We have a busy day planned for Mark with meetings with several local businesses through the day, all of whom have problems not being dealt with by the current Labour government. More on that after tomorrow……

When I got home from canvassing last night I had a bit of a shock, my 11 year old daughter Isabella thrust her new Geography book at me and said  ” look Mum, I’ve put you and Gordon Brown on the back of my Geography book “

“What” I said with horror on my face “Why have you put Gordon Brown on your Geography book?”

“Because my teacher said to put 2 politicians that are opposite to one another, so I put you and Gordon Brown”

Sense at last I thought, my views couldn’t be more opposite to his. Once again we have had a week of jumping from one thing to another in attempt to appease himself to the electorate. I do believe in conviction politicians, I know we’re all wrong some of the time and right some of the time, but if we don’t have true believes for the right reasons and the conviction to stick to those values – what do we have…….
